Lunar meteorites, such as Bechar 003, are rare fragments of the Moon ejected into space by asteroid impacts and later fallen to Earth, comprising less than 1% of all meteorites found. Bechar 003, discovered on March 24, 2022, in Bechar, Algeria, is classified as a lunar feldspathic breccia, with a medium gray matrix, small white clasts, and rare metal grains, totaling 2090 grams across many small pieces. These meteorites, composed of silicate minerals like olivine, pyroxene, and anorthite, offer insights into the Moon’s geological history and crust composition, mirroring samples from the Apollo missions. Their scarcity—rarer than diamonds—makes them prized additions for collectors.

The meteorite comes stored in a display box featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about lunar meteorites (meteorite can be removed from the box).
