Sauropod Tooth, Atlas Mountains (Ksar Metlili Formation) #05

Description

A rare sauropod tooth from the Ksar Metlili Formation of the Atlas Mountains, Morocco.  This formation captures the transition from Jurassic to Cretaceous periods and dates to 152 - 140 million years old.  There is very little published on the dinosaur fauna in this formation.

This is a cute little tooth with some great enamel, resting on its original matrix.

Condition: Good

Size: 0.5 inches (tooth, excluding surrounding rock)

Age: 152 - 140 Million Years (Upper Jurassic/Lower Cretaceous)

Locality: Talsint, Figuig Province, Atlas Mountains, Morocco (Ksar Metlili Fm.)
