Afrovenator
"African hunter"
Afrovenator was a megalosaurid dinosaur which lived in modern day Niger during Mid to Late Jurassic, 167 - 161 million years ago. It was a large predator, growing to around 8 meters in length. It had powerful jaws that contained rows of serrated, dagger-like teeth and three fingers with sickel shaped claws.
Afrovenator was a biped, meaning it walked on two legs, and was an efficient predator capable of pursuing and devouring the large herbivores which shared its environment, such as the sauropod Jobaria.

Afrovenator was closely related to a better-known dinosaur called Allosaurus, whom it strongly resembled.
