saurornitholestes

"Lizard bird thief"

Saurornitholestes was a small, agile, and fearsome predator that roamed North America during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 77 to 74 million years ago. Belonging to the dromaeosaurid family, often referred to as "raptors," Saurornitholestes shared many similarities with its more famous relative, Velociraptor. It possessed a slender build, long, powerful legs, and a distinctive sickle-shaped claw on each hind foot, which it likely used to inflict lethal blows to its prey.

Despite its relatively small size, Saurornitholestes was a formidable hunter, capable of taking down animals much larger than itself. Its sharp teeth and keen senses would have allowed it to efficiently dispatch its prey.
