Keichousaurus hui | Triassic Marine Reptile | 242 Million Years Old

A Keichousaurus hui (marine reptile) skeleton from the early Triassic of China. This fossil features some great bone detail. The matrix it rests in does have a couple of repairs where it has split along mineral veins, which is common with these specimens.

Keichousaurus hui was a small marine reptile from the Triassic of southern China. It measured up to 30cm long, with a long neck, paddle-like limbs, and a slender tail, adapted for swimming in shallow marine environments. Interestingly, these Triassic predators were pachypleurosaurs, relatives of the giant plesiosaurs to come, and even gave birth to live young at sea rather than laying eggs on land.

The fossil comes with a display stand and a small card featuring the specimen name, origin and age.

This is genuine fossil. All the specimens we offer come with a lifetime authenticity guarantee.
