Woolly Rhino Jaw | Coelodonta antiquitatis | Siberia

A fossil woolly rhino jaw section from the Siberian Permafrost. The woolly rhinoceros was a large, shaggy-haired rhinoceros that roamed the grasslands of northern Eurasia during the Pleistocene epoch. It became extinct around 10,000 years ago, likely due to a combination of climate change and human hunting.

This is an interesting section of lower jaw, collected from the thawing Siberian Permafrost. The inner surface of the jaw has erroded away, revealing its internal anatomy, including the tooth sockets and two intact molars, complete with their root structure.

The piece comes with an acrylic stand and a small label featuring the specimen name, origin and age.

This is genuine fossil. All the specimens we offer come with a lifetime authenticity guarantee.
