Uruguayan amethyst is world-renowned for its exceptional quality, defined by a deep, highly saturated violet color that often features rare blue and red flashes.

Mined primarily in the Artigas region of northern Uruguay, these crystals formed roughly 134 million years ago within ancient volcanic basalt cavities. Unlike lighter varieties found elsewhere, Uruguayan specimens are prized for their intense "Deep Siberian" tones and high clarity, frequently appearing in spectacular "cathedral" geodes that can stand as big as 12 feet tall.
