These fascinating creatures are instantly recognizable by their elongated necks, powerful flippers, and streamlined bodies. This is a nice tooth, resting on its original matrix.

The region around Khouribga, Morocco where this tooth was found, is renowned for its rich fossil deposits. The phosphate mines here expose marine sediments that preserve a diverse vertebrate fauna, including mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and various sharks, rays, and fish like Enchodus.
