Spinosaurus Tooth

A very large Spinosaurus tooth from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. This is a nice tooth with good enamel and feeding wear to the tip. Spinosaurus had peg-shaped teeth, perfect for catching fish which made up the majority of its diet. 

The geological group where this tooth was found, the Kem Kem Beds, is a series of sandstones and mudstones, exposed along the Algerian-Moroccan border. Deposited in a fluvial-deltaic environment with rivers, floodplains, and coastal wetlands, these sediments preserve a diverse fauna, including theropod dinosaurs (Spinosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus), crocodyliforms, pterosaurs, and abundant fish.

The tooth comes stored in a display box featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about Spinosaurus (fossil can be removed from the box).
