Mosasaur Jaw with Teeth

A piece of mosasaur jaw complete with three teeth from Khouribga, Morocco. This jaw belongs to Globidens, a mosasaur with rounded teeth, adapted for crushing the shells of creatures like ammonites and bivalves.

Mosasaurs were a group of large, predatory marine reptiles that lived during the Late Cretaceous period and they were apex predators in the oceans.

The region around Khouribga, Morocco where this tooth was found is renowned for its rich fossil deposits. The phosphate mines here expose marine sediments that preserve a diverse vertebrate fauna, including mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and various sharks, rays, and fish like Enchodus.
