Sauropod Tooth (Eusauropoda)

A sauropod tooth (eusauropoda indet.) from the Tiouraren Formation of Niger. This is a nice big crown with part of its root and comes from one of two sauropods, Jobaria or Spinophorosaurus. It's a partial crown but has no repairs or restoration and is very affordable!

The geologyical formation where this tooth was found, the Tiouraren Formation, located in the Agadez Region of Niger, is a Middle to Late Jurassic geological unit within the Irhazer Group, known for its rich vertebrate fossil record. Comprising reddish-purple siltstones, mudstones, and occasional sandstones, it represents a floodplain environment with seasonal flooding, shallow lakes, and semi-arid conditions. Notable dinosaur fossils include the sauropod Jobaria tiguidensis, the theropods Afrovenator abakensis and Spinostropheus gautieri, and ornithopod tracks, alongside fish, crocodyliforms, and invertebrates.

The tooth comes stored in a display box featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about sauropods (fossil can be removed from the box).
