Triceratops Frill

A piece of frill from the famous horned dinosaur, Triceratops. It comes from the Hell Creek Formation in Carter County, Montana. This formation was laid down by ancient floodplains in the Late Cretaceous and preserves fossils of Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus, as well as many other well known dinosaurs. Its top, the K-Pg boundary, marks the asteroid impact that ended the dinosaurs.

This is a very nice, solid section of frill featuring nice detail, including many deep channels over the surface which would have once held blood vessels supplying blood to the frill. It has no repairs or restoration.

The bone comes with a display stand as pictured and a small card featuring the specimen name, region it was found and age.
