Mosasaur tooth

A mosasaur tooth from Khouribga, Morocco. Mosasaurs were a group of large, predatory marine reptiles that lived during the Late Cretaceous period and they were apex predators in the oceans.

The region around Khouribga, Morocco where this tooth was found, is renowned for its rich fossil deposits. The phosphate mines here expose marine sediments that preserve a diverse vertebrate fauna, including mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and various sharks, rays, and fish like Enchodus.   

The tooth comes stored in a display box featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about mosasaurs (the fossil can be removed from the box).
