Pachycephalosaurus Tooth

A Pachycephalosaurus tooth from the Hell Creek Formation in Carter County, Montana. Pachycephalosaurus, a late Cretaceous ornithischian dinosaur, is best known for its distinctive thick, domed skull. This is a nice tooth crown, featuring good detail and a bit of natural feeding wear.

The formation where this tooth was found, the Hell Creek Formation, was laid down by ancient floodplains in the Late Cretaceous and preserves fossils of Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus, as well as many other well known dinosaurs. Its top, the K-Pg boundary, marks the asteroid impact that ended the dinosaurs.
