Tyrannosaurus rex Tooth (hatchling)

A tiny tooth from one of the largest terrestrial predators to ever live, Tyrannosaurus rex. Measuring just 8mm, this is a very rare and exceptionally small tooth (the smallest we've ever seen) from a tiny T. rex. Feeding wear to the tip indicate it was a hatchling, rather than embryonic. It features nice enamel and coarse serrations.

The tooth comes from the Hell Creek Formation in Carter County, Montana. This formation was laid down by ancient floodplains in the Late Cretaceous and preserves fossils of Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus, as well as many other well known dinosaurs. Its top, the K-Pg boundary, marks the asteroid impact that ended the dinosaurs.

It comes stored in a display box featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about T. rex (fossil can be removed from the box).
