Plesiosaur tooth

A Plesiosaur tooth marine reptile from Khouribga, Morocco. Plesiosaurs were a diverse group of marine reptiles that dominated the seas during the Mesozoic Era. These fascinating creatures are instantly recognizable by their elongated necks, powerful flippers, and streamlined bodies. This is a nice tooth with a couple of repairs (no restoration).

The region around Khouribga, Morocco where this tooth was found, is renowned for its rich fossil deposits. The phosphate mines here expose marine sediments that preserve a diverse vertebrate fauna, including mosasaurs, plesiosaurs, and various sharks, rays, and fish like Enchodus.   

The tooth comes stored in a display box featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about the Plesiosaurs (fossil can be removed from the box).
