Theropod Limb Bone (England)

A piece of limb bone belonging to a theropod dinosaur from the East Sussex, England. This piece features nice bone detail, including a thick outter wall and hollow cavity at the center (now infilled), typical of theropod bones.

The geological formation where this footcast was found, the Wadhurst Clay Formation, is an Early Cretaceous unit of claystones, mudstones, and siltstones, reflecting a subtropical floodplain environment. Exposed around Hastings, it is renowned for its rich fossil record, including iguanodontid dinosaurs like Barilium and Iguanodon, as well as theropods, fish, and plant remains. Its fine-grained sediments, deposited in lakes and rivers, preserved delicate bones and teeth, many of which erode onto local beaches. 

The bone comes with a display stand as pictured and a small card featuring the specimen name, region it was found and age.
