Carcharodontosaurid Tooth (Eocarcharia Dinops)

An Eocarcharia dinops tooth from the Elrhaz Formation of Niger. Eocarcharia was a Carcharodontosaurid dinosaur with large, blade-shaped teeth and lived alongside other theropods such as Kryptops and Suchomimus. This is a worn tooth and is missing its tip, but it's a very affordable way to own a real Eocarcharia tooth!

The geological formation where this tooth was found, the Elrhaz Formation, located in the Ténéré Desert of Niger, is an Early Cretaceous (112 million years ago) sedimentary unit renowned for its exceptional vertebrate fossil record. Composed of fluvial sandstones, mudstones, and conglomerates, it represents a lush, river-dominated floodplain environment with seasonal lakes and abundant vegetation. This formation is famous for yielding Suchomimus tenerensis, a piscivorous spinosaurid, alongside the sauropod Nigersaurus taqueti, crocodyliforms like Sarcosuchus imperator, and diverse fish and pterosaurs.
