Spinosaurus Tooth

A Spinosaurus tooth from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. This is a huge, chunky tooth, with good enamel and feeding wear to the tip. Spinosaurus had peg-shaped teeth, perfect for catching fish which made up the majority of its diet. This is an excellent example of a tooth from a large animal and, despite it's size, has no repairs or restoration.

The geological group where this tooth was found, the Kem Kem Beds, is a series of sandstones and mudstones, exposed along the Algerian-Moroccan border. Deposited in a fluvial-deltaic environment with rivers, floodplains, and coastal wetlands, these sediments preserve a diverse fauna, including theropod dinosaurs (Spinosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus), crocodyliforms, pterosaurs, and abundant fish.

The tooth comes with an acrylic display stand and a small card featuring the specimen name, region it was found, age and a QR code linking to some information about Spinosaurus.
