Description

Agathaumas sphenocerus, painted by Charles R. Knight in 1897.

The fossil remains of Agathaumas were first found in 1872 in the Lance Formation of southwestern Wyoming. It is now considered to be an invalid genus of ceratopsian, with the remains most likely belonging to either Triceratops or Torosaurus.

This painting by Knight was later used as basis for a model Agathaumas in the 1925 film The Lost World.
