Description

An early 19th century depiction of the Adams Mammoth.  This was the first mammoth with skin and flesh still attached to be recovered by scientists.  This is a copy of the first attempt at restoration of the Adams mammoth, the original has been lost.  The handwriting is that of Johann Friedrich Blumenbach.
