A rare section of Protoceratops jaw from the Djadochta Formation. Protoceratops was a small, herbivorous ceratopsian dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous of modern day Mongolia. It lived alongside and was preyed upon by dinosaurs such as Tarbosaurus and Velociraptor.
This piece consists of a small piece of jaw with four teeth attached. One of the teeth is a replacement tooth, resting behind the three up top. There are also a couple of other little replacement teeth in there, but they're tucked away and hidden from sight, bar the base of their roots. A very rare and unusual piece.
