An abelisaur dinosaur tooth. 

Abelisaurs were a group of carnivorous dinosaurs. They were recognisable by their extremely small forelimbs, short deep faces, small sharp teeth and powerful muscular hind limbs. 

This tooth comes from an as yet undescribed Abelisaur from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco.  Such teeth are often mislabelled 'raptor' or 'dromaeosaur', but the evidence for the existence of dromaeosaurs in Kem Kem is quite scarce. 

Current evidence suggests there are probably two Abelisaur's found in the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco, one mid sized and one large, but neither have been named.  An Abelisaur (Rugops primus) has been named from the Echkar Formation of Niger, a formation of similar age to the Kem Kem Beds, but there's not enough fossil evidence to say whether this same Abelisaur is found in Kem Kem.  Therefore this tooth has been labelled Abelisaur indet. 

This is a small tooth with damage to the tip, but has some nice serrations. Comes labelled and stored in an acrylic case with padding.
