ABELISAUR

Abelisauridae was a group of feather-covered, carnivorous dinosaurs. They were recognisable by their extremely small forelimbs, short deep faces, small sharp teeth and powerful muscular hind limbs.

The teeth listed here come from an as yet undescribed Abelisaur from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco.  Such teeth are often mislabelled 'raptor' or 'dromaeosaur', but the evidence for the existence of dromaeosaurs in Kem Kem is quite scarce.

Current evidence suggests there are probably two Abelisaur's found in the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco, one mid sized and one large, but neither have been named.  An Abelisaur (Rugops primus) has been named from the Echkar Formation of Niger, a formation of similar age to the Kem Kem Beds, but there's not enough fossil evidence to say whether this same Abelisaur is found in Kem Kem.  Therefore these teeth are labelled Abelisaur indet. for the time being.
